About Hradec Králové and Its Region

The City of Hradec Králové - the regional centre of Eastern Bohemia - lies in the northeastern part of the Czech Republic about 100 km from Prague. Hradec is situated at the confluence of the Labe (Elbe) and Orlice Rivers and surrounded by wooded hills and fertile farmland. Wheather is mild.

The area of its region is almost 5000 square kilometres. Its population lives in 448 towns and villages. The region consists of five parts dominated by towns Hradec Králové, Jičín, Náchod, Rychnov nad Kněžnou and Trutnov and is closely connected by both railway and coaches to Prague.
